These swatch beautifully. I was totally prepared to build up the color, they didn’t need it. These colors are thin, as opposed to Nyx Milk which applies quite thickly. They are nicely opaque, though a couple of them are pastel. I do think they don’t show up as well in the swatches as they could. I think that might be more of a lighting problem, though I used the same lighting as I always do. The lighting might have been the problem, as these are shimmery. They’re beautiful in person, but I think the light reflecting off the product really hurts the photo quality.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon (Barely Beige, Pink Parfait, and Lilac Lust) |
700 Barely Beige
This color is more gold than beige. I’ve been wanting a more brown, creme eyeshadow base. I’m not sure this is what I was looking for. The swatch had better staying power than the others. The others washed off rather quickly. This one I had to scrub off.
705 Pink Parfait
This color would make a good highlight color. It’s a light pearly kind of shade. It reminds me of the pink shade from the Maybelline Hushed Tints eight pan palette and the pink from the Maybelline Pink Persuasion Quad. I thought it would make a good eye base.
720 Lilac Lust
This is by no means a lilac color, I think it’s more plumy. This one wasn’t as pastel as the other two.
The packaging seems cheap. The tops are sealed on with stickers that leave behind a sticky residue when removed. The caps are a thin plastic which seems more durable than Nyx’s similar product. I recommend making sure the tops are really shut. It’s fairly easy to leave them partially open which could cause them to come open and dry out.
Stay tuned for a more in depth review.
